Ordering
How much does shipping cost?
For shipping within Germany we charge a flat rate of Euro 5.50 per order. From an order value of Euro 100.00, shipping within Germany is free of charge. Here you can find all information about our shipping costs.
Can I buy gift vouchers from MATTES?
Yes, you can find MATTES vouchers in our shop. Simply enter "Voucher" in the search field. You can also access the overview by clicking on the link MATTES Voucher.
Payment
What payment methods are available?
You can choose between different payment options. You can pay by credit card via PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account for this. Of course, you can also pay via your PayPal account and use other functions such as pay later and payment by instalments, if these options are offered to you by PayPal. If you prefer to pay by bank transfer, you have the option to pay in advance. You can find everything about our payment options on the following page. Payment
I would like to pay with the payment service provider PayPal. What do I need to consider?
Paying with PayPal is very easy. All you need is a PayPal account and your login details. Simply click on PayPal under payment options when ordering.
I would like to pay by credit card. What do I have to consider?
Payment by credit card at mattes-equestrian.com is made via the payment service provider PayPal. You do not need your own PayPal account to purchase by credit card. Only your credit card details are required.
I would like to pay in advance. What do I have to consider?
Simply select the prepayment payment option when ordering. After placing your order, you will receive an e-mail from us with all the necessary information.
Shipping and delivery
Which shipping service provider is used to dispatch the orders?
We ship with our logistics partner DHL. In individual cases and depending on which warehouse the order is dispatched from, we also ship with DPD.
How can I track my delivery?
As soon as we have shipped your parcel, we will send you a notification by email. Here you will find your personal tracking link. This allows you to check the status of your parcel at any time.
When will my items be delivered?
We always show you the delivery time for your desired item directly next to the respective item. This allows you to see at a glance when you can expect delivery. We dispatch immediately available items (in stock) within 2 to 5 working days (Monday - Friday). Items that are manufactured according to your wishes (items from the Mattes configurator) have a production time of approx. 3 to 4 weeks and are dispatched to you after completion. Please note: We only ever dispatch your order in full. For orders with immediately available items and items from the configurator, this means that the delivery time is based on the item with the longest delivery time. If you do not want to wait, please separate the orders and place 2 orders.
Is it possible to ship to Switzerland?
Delivery to Switzerland is only possible in our Swiss online shop. Shop.mattes-reitsport.ch . Delivery there includes customs clearance.
Returns and exchanges
Can I return my order?
You can return items from our warehouse within 14 days. Configured products from our configurator are produced especially for you according to your wishes and cannot be returned.
Saddle pads
What size do I need for my saddle?
The saddle pad must fit your saddle, it must never be too small or too tight. On the following page you will find instructions on how to measure your saddle.
Alternatively, you can also measure your existing saddle pad and compare it with the product's measurement chart. You can find the measurement table under the Technical details tab.
Please note that the saddle seat size is not a reliable measurement for determining the correct size of saddle pad.

What quilting fabric colours are available?
We currently have over 35 quilting fabric colours available. These are quilted with our small quilting pattern. Simply start the MATTES configurator to see all available quilting colours.
What quilting fabric sheen colours are available?
We currently have over 35 quilting fabric sheen colours available. These are quilted with our large quilting pattern. Simply start the MATTES configurator to see all available quilting fabric gloss colours.
What velvet colours are available?
We currently have over 15 velvet colours available. These are quilted with our large quilting pattern. This velvet fabric is very robust and looks incredibly beautiful. Simply start the MATTES configurator to see all available velvet colours.
Can I have my square pad embroidered with a text?
Yes, you can also enter your own text in the configurator under "Embroidery". Your text can be up to 12 characters long. The more characters, the smaller the individual letters will be. You can select embroidery on the left only or on both sides.
Can I have my square pad embroidered with my own logo?
Yes, you can also have your square pad embroidered with your own logo. Please contact our customer service by e-mail before ordering and send your logo in high quality (PDF, JPEG, PNG) as well as the information on which product (e.g. dressage square pad size L) the logo should be embroidered. We will then check your enquiry and clarify everything else with you.
I have a monoblade saddle, is there a fastening for it?
Yes, the monoflap fastening in white and black is available in the configurator under "Velcro fastening".
I don't need the Velcro on the top, can I leave it off?
Yes, you can also deselect the top Velcro strap. Simply select "top without Velcro" under "Velcro" in the configurator.
I need a special size for my saddle, can I order a customised saddle?
Special sizes are also possible at MATTES. Please contact our customer service by e-mail and send us all the information (dimensions) and a few pictures. We will then get in touch with you to discuss possible solutions.
What is the EWWA SpineFree?
With our EWWA SpineFree, the lambskin is cut deeper in the withers area. This is only required for horses with high withers. In most cases, our normal SpineFree is sufficient. If you are unsure, it is best to ask your saddler.
Are there matching fleece bandages for my saddle pad?
We offer matching fleece bandages for almost all quilted fabrics and velvet colours. Here you will find all Fleece bandages.
How can I configure my saddle pad?
All you need is a current internet browser. You can click on the "Configure now" button for any product with a "configurable" tag to start the MATTES configurator.
Lambskin
Which lambskin colour should I choose if I want the natural colour?
The lambskin colour "light yellow" corresponds to the colour known as natural.
I have a light-coloured horse, can I use black lambskin?
No, lambskin can discolour. Very dark or light-coloured lambskin in particular can rub off. For a light-coloured horse, it is better to choose a lighter lambskin colour. E.g. light yellow, grey, etc.
Can lambskin rub off?
Yes, very dark and light lambskin colours can stain under certain circumstances. This can be favoured by unsuitable detergents or horse sweat. There is no problem with lighter lambskin colours.
Can I wash MATTES lambskin?
Yes, Mattes lambskin can and must be washed. You can find out how to do this and what you need to bear in mind in the washing instructions.
