What is the CORRECTION® System?
The CORRECTION® System allows the saddle position to be adjusted individually using inserts and supports an optimal saddle fit.
The system is used, among other things, for:

- swayback in older horses
- different hip positions
- natural crookedness of the horse
- young horses in development
- after illness or training breaks
What does SPINEFREE® mean?
SPINEFREE® provides additional wither clearance and creates more space in the spine area. This makes it easier to lift the pad into the saddle chamber and helps reduce pressure on the spinous processes.
What does EWWA SPINEFREE® mean?
EWWA stands for “Extra Wide Wither Area” and refers to a special version of selected MATTES saddle pads. Compared to the regular SPINEFREE® version, the front wither area has an additional cut-out.
This creates extra space for horses with high or pronounced withers. The EWWA SPINEFREE® version was developed specifically for these requirements and can help reduce pressure in the sensitive wither area while supporting the horse’s freedom of movement.
Can I configure my MATTES half pad individually?
Yes. Many models can be customised with different lambskin colours, quilted fabrics, bindings, cords and further options.
How do I care for my lambskin half pad properly?
